Teen Court has been a viable Diversion for first time offenders for the past 8 years. During the calendar year 2000, Teen Court procedded 593 cases with a 1.2% recidivism rate. During the 2000-2001 school year Teen Court began to schedule and hear school truancy cases as another alternative to formal court interventions.
