The
Assistant Director for Legal Services is primarily responsible
for the day to day operations of the Court Magistrates and legal
support staff. The Assistant Director serves as a magistrate,
performs legal research and renders advice to the Judges and
Court Director. Also, he interacts with other courts and agencies
to resolve jurisdictional and other issues.
Mr.
Martin participates in design and operation of the case management
computer system, and consults with Clerk of Court and MIS staff
regarding enhancements and problems with existing computer system
and new systems as developed.
The
Deputy Director for Legal Services is also responsible for overseeing
the Court-appointed attorney appointment list and qualification
process, and answers procedural questions from attorneys and
the general public.
