Child Support Enforcement Agency Liaison Marilyn
Thum The Franklin County Child Support Enforcement Agency (FCCSEA) Liaison coordinates activities between the Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA) and the Court. The CSEA Liaison manages both paperwork flow and cases throughout the hearing process. Department staff provides information for child support questions and related issues. The Liaison may facilitate agreements between the parties eliminating the need for formal court hearings. In the event of a hearing, the liaison verifies arrearage work-sheet data, updates payment histories and completes guideline worksheets and withholding forms. The CSEA Court Officers assist FCCSEA attorneys with court hearings for parentage actions, contempt and other support motions and all Uniform Interstate Family Support Act (UIFSA) proceedings. The Liaison manages the misdemeanor, criminal and non-support probation caseloads. Probation Officers conduct regular meetings with clients, make court appearances for revocation hearings, monitor arrearages, prepare withholding notices, maintain accurate statistics and develop regular probation status reports. During 2004, 4,011 support orders were terminated administratively through the use of an automatic termination procedure. The FCCSEA increased the number of annual terminations by 50% since 1998. Also, during 2004, there were 1,085 support objection hearing scheduled before Court Magistrates. |
